This is a very good opportunity for .Net developers to get ahead of this wave, and trust me, it will be a BIG wave. Just think of all the IPhone apps you can recreate for this new platform in a fraction of time it takes on the IPhone platform. Here is the Windows Phone 7 rebate code: WP7BOOTCAM - good for $100 off the 2-day boot camp. This rebate code has no time limit.
Colin Melia from DreamDigial is creating and presenting the material. When you leave this boot camp, you will have the knowledge and sample to build a Windows Phone 7 application. BTW, DevTeach is the first organization to provide a boot camp on Windows Phone 7 in Canada. Do not miss this chance.

.Net developpers that know Silverlight can now take advantage of the next gold rush wave with the Windows Phone 7 series. And trust me; it will be a BIG wave. Just think of all the iPhone apps you can recreate for this new platform in a fraction of time it takes on the iPhone platform. Now if you are not convinced take a look at the video below. I am an iPhone user for the past 2 years and after seeing that video, I was ready to tease my iPhone for the Windows Phone 7.

Last week I was giving sessions about XML. I did it before at the Ottawa IT Day and the Toronto Code Camp. But this time I enhance it with some code simple that output XML that I was using back in year 2000. This example was interesting because 2000 was when this buzz work hit all developer like a brick. Now, to know what this is all about you need to be there. The good news is that all the code from this demo fest can be downloaded right here. If you have questions call or email me

Christ Dufour and is volunteers team (Over 30 volunteers) did a fantastic job at the www.TorontoCodeCamp.Net. Over 600 attendees, 39 sessions presented in a single day. According to Chris all sessions have been well received. I was doing 2 sessions “What is MS Sync Framework?” and “XML in SQL Server, Why bother?”. My sessions offend have a “?” in the tile because it’s questions that I use to have. The presentation normally brings the DBA or Developer to a general knowledge of the subject. Was doing the “XML in SQL Server” talk for the second time and I field it is getting just right. I am doing this session next week at the OttawaSQL.net. I suggest you come to know all you need to know about XML and SQL Server. Here a picture of me at the Toronto Code Camp.

Next week I am presenting 2 sessions. I will do my MS Sync. Framework and I will present this new session that I call XML in SQL Server! Why bother? This new session is the session I wish I had 2 year ago. It a session that will show all you need to know about XLS and SQL Server. It’s also a demo fest with more than 7 demos of XML Schema Collection, For XML, XQuery and Sparse Column. Plus I adjust this presentation to cover what the developer and the DBA need to know. It will be a must see.

If you miss this event, you really miss something. 20 speakers, 20 sessions. The quality of speakers this year is definitively going up in Ottawa. That is not surprising because the local community here is growing. We now have three UG here and the number of volunteer is growing. When I count all leaders in our community that participate in speaking, organizing, recruiting local talent, we are more than 12 here. Check our the picture: http://www.ottawacodecamp.ca

Yesterday I did again my talk about the MS Sync. Framework. This time it was the ODNC for the lunch presentation. Attendees had very good questions and it shows the interest on this tools. In fact I am using in production the Sync. Framework with the File Provider and it really fast. Coding something like that will take me a long time before I get it right. If you do not know what is the MS Sync. Framework. Check it out at this link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/sync/default.aspx

All week at DevTeach we had fun and saw many very good sessions but at lunch time we had nowhere to go. So I’ve been asking for volunteers to show demos at lunch. Beth Massi volunteered to present Open XML SDK on Wednesday and I presented my Sync. Framework onThursday. This is a good thing for the attendees because you do learn during lunch time. Something else we did during lunch time, is running http://www.dnrtv.com/ shows. These are fantastic free training videos you can play in your office at lunch time. Check it out.
