SQL Server 2012 Self Service BI workshop in Montreal on Dec. 12th, 2012.

by Jean-Rene Roy 27. September 2012 21:02

SQL Server 2012 is the version that introduces many good tools for the power user. This is all part of the Self Service BI initiative.  SQL Server 2008R2 introduce a version of Report Services (SSRS) that allows DBA to setup a Sandbox were users can create reports with Report Builder with no restrictions. SQL Server 2012 pushes the envelope event more by providing business analyses with real good cleansing tools which include the Business Analyses in the ETL process.  Now Office 2010 introduce PowerPivot which allows you to consume data form any source. Office 2013 will provide event more tools for the self-service BI. The best way to know about these new initiatives from Microsoft is to go to Rushabh Mehta Post-Conference at DevTeach Montreal on December 12th and get the details there.
